My Headset has static
The headset needs to be reprogrammed to the base. Follow procedures on card and make sure no one is at the menu post. The headset may not be fully programmed if a customer is on the pad or another employee is taking an order.
I can hear but can't talk
Check to see if you can talk on the page button. Make sure you have a fully charged battery. Reprogram the unit if needed.
I can't hear or talk
Check battery, replace with new if needed, and reprogram. On the 1060, the green light should flash on the station when the programming is working. On the 960, listen for tones in the earpiece while programming.
I don't hear any tones when I'm programming
Check to see that the 3 pins in the slot aren't bent and that the cable is fitting over the pins. Make sure cable is plugged into base and the headset and base are turned on.
I can't hear anything, but they can hear me
The speaker may be broken. The best thing to do is to send it in for repair
My batteries rattle when I put them in the headset
That means the battery contacts are broken. At this point, the battery will not hold a charge. Replace with new.
My charger is staying red
The batteries are old and won't take a charge. Clean contacts on charger to remove buildup. For better contact with the battery, charger may need to be repaired.
My charger won't light up
First, try another outlet and alternate batteries in ports. If you still have no luck, a new charger is needed.
All of my headsets have quit working
Make sure the base is on. If you hear static, you need to reprogram. If you can talk to each other, hit T1 or T2. Does it key up a light on the base? If yes, can you hear a tone when a car arrives?
HME
I just got my COM back and it doesn't work
If the light doesn't come on, insert fresh batteries and turn on. If the light does come on, see if you hear anything in the headset; switch headsets if needed.
To verify Switches are set correctly:
Pull battery door from case and remove the battery. Locate the switches inside Row of 4/Row of 8. Match switches in non-working unit to one that does work. Put on verified headset and insert a fresh, fully charged battery. Check for functionability.
If the unit doesn't key the base and you can't talk to another person on B button, send the headset in for repair.
Fast Track Timers
Manuals online at www.phaseresearch.com
My display at the window keeps running
After the car is gone, check the base unit at the timer. See if the L4 light is still on, and counting at center column, use main keys to reset Loop at that window. If that doesn't work, power unit down and reboot.
The display is blank on the timer
If there are no other lights on, try moving it to another outlet. If that works, hit print display and see if it prints. If it doesn't work, send it in for repair.
The Printer won't print
Check to see if the red light on Printer Board is lit. Hit reset; if the red light still won't come on, the printer may need to be repaired.

Panasonic
Verify frequency on the 520, 920 and 1020 units with a working unit. Each one has a tech use door where switches are located.
I Can't Talk or Page
If it keys the base, try a different battery and headset. If it doesn't, send it in for repair.
On the Panasonic 2020, verify the switches are matched with a working unit, and has a fresh battery and a good working headset. If you can't talk and can page, or you can't talk or page, send it in for repair.
My base station won't turn on
Check the outlet, hit reset on the base for circuit breaker, turn on again. If there is no power belt to belt, the base has a problem. If the base keys up when the talk button is pushed, check to make sure that no wires were pulled from the base and check outside to see if the speaker post is damaged. Have an employee key the belt to see if there is any cracking or popping noise coming from the post. If there is, you might have a bad speaker or mic. Whether it's a base problem or a speaker post problem, call for local service.

COM 400
I can hear, but I can't talk
Does a red light flash when hitting A? If yes, check the headset. If no, the switch is bad.
My earpiece has static burst
It is not on the correct frequency or the base is not on . If it's on all the belts, you have a base problem; if it's just the one belt, send that belt in for repair after verifying current frequency.
I can hear the customer but I can't talk to them
If it's on all the belts, check the wires and switch on the outside speaker. Also, be sure the wired/wireless switch is in the wireless position. If it's just one belt, check the headset, switch, and retry. If this doesn't work, send it in for repair.
Common Problems:
Weak batteries, bad headsets, worn sockets, worn switches, improper switch settings (if you borrow from another store, the frequency settings are not always the same).
COM 6000
After a 6000 has been repaired, it needs to be re-registered. Please follow procedure on the sheet. Always have the headset (by appropriate color) plugged into the unit with fresh batteries before proceeding with the instructions.
- Lightning and/or Power Outages can affect equipment function dramatically. The base unit may not always fail immediately after the power returns. Components inside may take a surge and weaken performance of components for operation. Once powered up again it will deteriorate and fail later.
HME 6000 Communicator Registration
During installation of the Wireless 6000 system, each Communicator was registered for use with a specific base station. The base station thereby recognizes all registered Communicators when their power is on, differentiating between them and interfering transmissions from other electronic equipment operating on similar frequencies. If a Communicator is replaced, the new one much be registered. A maximum of 15 Communicators can be registered.
When a Communicator is replaced, the old one remains in memory. If the maximum number of 15 is exceeded, all current registrations much be cleared, and all active Communicators must be re-registered. To clear all current registrations, press the "Clear All Registration" button after releasing the "Reset" Button, until the clear code "c" (lower case) appears on the Communicator ID display. All active Communicator can then be registered, one at a time.
Register each Communicator as follows:
Note: Communicators must be within 6 feet (1.83 meters) of the base station while being registered.
- Be certain all Communicators registered are powered off and the base station power is on. Other Communicators can be on or off.
- Open the base station and press the "Registration" button
- If no Communicators are powered on, the status light will be blinking red. If any Communicators are powered on, the status light will be on steady green.
-After you press the "Registration" button, the Communicator ID display will show a small "o" for open and the light will blink green.
- Press and hold the B button while pressing and releasing the PWR (power) button to turn the Communicator on, and then release the B button. This will cause the Communicator to enter the registration mode.
-The status light in the base station will be blinking green, and the Communicator ID display will continue to show a small "o" for open.
-The power lights next to the A1 and A2 buttons on the Communicator will be blinking red, then will change to green.
When the registration is successfully completed:
-The green status light in the base station will be on steady and the Communicator ID display, to the left of the status light, will show the ID number assigned to this Communicator. ID numbers are assigned sequentially as 0 through 9, A, b,C,d, and E.
-One of the power lights on the Communicator will remain on steady green.
